Dozens of orange pumpkins sit in a pumpkin patch.
Pumpkins
  • Buy your pumpkins from a local pumpkin patch.
  • If carving, save the seeds to make yummy roasted pumpkin seeds.
  • When you’re done with your pumpkin, compost it or donate it to an animal sanctuary!
Home Maintenace
  • Leave the leaves! Leaves are crucial to our ecosytems and soil, so try to resist the urge to rake them up.
  • Try to keep your thermostat at 68 degrees throughout the colder months - your heating system operates most efficiently at this temperature.
Home Decor
  • Create a capsule of fall decor that you love and will want to use year after year.
  • If you want new decor, buy it secondhand from a local thrift store or Facebook Marketplace.
  • Try creating some DIY fall decorations using fallen leaves, pinecones, or twigs!
Candles
  • Create candles out of vessels you already have with candle refill kits from Siblings!
  • Try to avoid paraffin wax and opt for something like soy wax instead.
  • For lighting your candles, try matches or a rechargeable electric lighter.

Self Care
  • Stay moisturized with lotion bars or refillable lotion from Plaine Products.
  • Practice sustainable self care by taking a walk with a warm drink, visiting a pumpkin patch, going apple picking, or baking some fall treats!
Clothing
  • Create a fall capsule wardrobe that you love and will want to come back to every year.
  • If you need new clothes, try finding them secondhand or hosting a fall clothing swap with friends!
  • Don’t let old sweaters collect dust in your closet - donate them, repurpose them, or recycle them with ForDays.
Halloween
  • Thrift or rent your costumes, or get creative with clothes you already have in your wardrobe!
  • Thrift spooky decor, DIY it using things you have on hand, or just stick to decor you already have.
  • Opt for candy packaged in cardboard or other non-plastic materials.
